Light, 12/3/16

I have been playing with a teleidoscope, partly because it is fun (and admittedly escapist,) and partly because it strikes me as a very significant thing, this ability to change what is right in front of  you, to fracture and shift and re-orient your world. To make something beautiful. It is a good practice, I think.

  1. I LOVE this. (and I've been loving all your photos.) I had one of these when I was young and I loved it. I remember looking at the Christmas tree through it.

This post has my brain bouncing around to ideas about light and how, if you can find something to reflect it, it bounces and splits and illuminates anything it can reach. Hm, the thought's not well formed, yet, but it's a good thought. Thank you for posting!

    1. One of these was the Christmas tree! This is a window in our dining room. The fact that it is both an everyday thing and also a transformed, new thing--I can't get over it.

I love hearing from you!
